Our perspective
Working with a relationship manager
What a considered relationship-management conversation should establish before an individual arrangement is discussed.
Understanding
Agree what the conversation is for.
Objectives, concerns and the people affected deserve attention at the outset. A useful discussion distinguishes an immediate request from the wider considerations behind it.
Follow-up
Keep the next step clear.
Important points should be recorded in understandable language, with responsibilities and outstanding questions identified. Specialist roles should be agreed where further advice is needed.
Channels
Protect sensitive information.
Ordinary email is suitable for an initial enquiry, not passwords or confidential document submissions. Any future account-opening process would require a separately established secure channel.
